Soil Investigations
Soil Investigations or Geotechnical Site Investigations are sub-surface surveys to identify the physical properties of soil and rock under a site, in order to design earth retaining systems and foundations for proposed structures and to repair distressed earthworks structures caused by subsurface conditions. A geotechnical examination includes surface and subsurface exploration, soil sampling, and laboratory analysis. Samples are examined prior to site development.
